about

The One was inspired by and online video I saw where a computer programmer offer a homeless man $100.00 or he would offer him a job and be taught to write code. The homeless man chose to take the job and ended up turning his life around. It got me thinking about how we treat the homeless as a stereotypical group instead of a group of individuals who live in similar circumstances. What separates those who would take the quick $100 and those who can identify an opportunity to make a real change? We as a society like to group and package people into categories so that we have an understanding of who they are, but the truth is we know nothing until we know the individuals. The song lyrics take the stance of how we compare homeless people to trash and how they are treated as such. Some people are beyond help, but giving a branch of kindness anyone one person with an internal fire can be "The One" who makes it out. - R. Johnson

lyrics

The One
- Chaos Theory (R. Johnson/L. Coulstring)

Fortune finds us all
For some it turns away
Counting down the days
Mostly wasted
Curbside awake
Collecting thoughts all day
Rejection

Hide away they never show
Still in ways you always know

You'll be the one
Who overcome
You'll be the one
Who made it out

Disposed and sent away
Walking streets all day
Seems the only way
To fight this hunger
Heard somebody claim
"He used to be someone"
Now ashamed

Hide away they never show
Still in ways you always know

You'll be the one
Who overcome
You'll be the one
Who made it out

Filth of this world
Filth of this world
Filth of this world
Filth of this world
You're calling them the
Filth of this world
Filth of this world
Filth of this world
Free of this at last...

You'll be the one
Who overcome
You'll be the one
Who made it out
The only one
To be someone again

The album consists of 12 griping tracks oozing with raw emotion and garnered them a 2012 Nova Scotia music award for “Loud Recording of the Year”.
